On My Nightstand

For me it was one of those rare evenings...
Dinner cooked, eaten and dishes cleared,
The boys hunkered down in their rooms playing video games doing homework,
hubby downstairs, happily at one with the sofa and TV,
doggies fed, walked and settled in.

Oh too good to be true...it's 8:00pm and I can happily retreat to my comfy bed with a cup of tea and a good read.  I love these moments to myself.  It's one of those quiet joys in life :-)

On my nightstand:
Notebook to jot down all those yarn projects I will start someday
The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom
A Japanese crochet book
Cottage Style by Country Living Editors
A rose-scented candle

Good night!  Hope you enjoy some "you" time :-)

  1. Oh those clever doggies spreading themselves out equally... is the little one the 'top-dog' or is it just coincidence? :)x

  2. I love the way your dogs are sleeping in order of size on the steps! Oh, they make you laugh. Curious about the Cottage style book, will have to have a look at that. :) Gail x

  4. Oh Josie that photo of your dogs is hysterical! Are those their favourite allocated stairs I wonder!
Hope you enjoyed your restful evening, nothing nicer than snuggling under your duvet with a good book is there.

  5. Those quiet times are the best times. You have some good reading on your nightstand. And your pups are just the cutest all sprawled out on the stairs like that. Hope you have a great weekend. Tammy

  6. Hi Josie, what an adorable pic of your doggies! Your relaxing evening sounds wonderful. Loving the earlier post with your new granny blankie and the apple cake sounds delish. Hope you are enjoying the cooler and shorter days of autumn. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos with us.
